NEW DELHI: Delhi Development Authority’s Housing Scheme 2021 has received booking amounts from more than 2,200 home seekers in the higher income group and middle income group category, where over 1,000 flats are on offer, according to data provided by a DDA official.

The authority received 53,316 applications by Wednesday afternoon, of which 11,157 had submitted full details and 3,620 had paid the booking amount.

The cost of the 1,354 flats on offer across Jasola, Dwarka, Vasant Kunj and Rohini range from Rs 40.6 lakh to Rs 2.1 crore.

The DDA expects the number to double by February 16, the last date to submit applications, with the draw of lots expected in the first week of March.

“Of the 3,620 home seekers who have already paid the booking amount, 2,269 are for HIG and MIG. The scheme offers 254 HIG flats with prices ranging between Rs 69.6 lakh and Rs. 2.1 crore and 757 two-bedroom MIG flats priced between Rs. 40.6 lakh and Rs. 1.4 crore,” said a DDA official.

The scheme launched on January 2 is linked to the “Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme” under “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Housing for All (Urban)”.

There are 52 lower income group flats on offer, priced from Rs 17.7 lakh to Rs 35.5 lakh, apart from 291 flats for the economically weaker sections. DDA received payment from 802 aspirants in the EWS category and 531 in the LIG category.

“We expect the number to increase as people like to pay when the last date is near. Across categories, the response has been encouraging,” the official said.

The scheme has been launched completely through online mode. Applicants can complete all the formalities for application, payment and possession online and have to visit the DDA office only to process the deed.
